CO2 and CO scrubbers for fallout shelters
Carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide scrubbers
Carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide removers (commonly referred to as “CO2 scrubbers/removers”) are specially designed systems for confined environments such as mines, where CO can accumulate due to incomplete fuel combustion. Our systems have been specifically engineered for civil defense shelters (NBC sheltersFallout shelter with CBRN and blast protection), where the “isolation” mode restricts fresh air intake. In such fully sealed environments, carbon dioxide released by human breathing gradually builds up in the atmosphere. Scrubbers are therefore essential in these protected zones to maintain CO2 and CO concentrations at safe levels.
Thanks to a modular design that allows for series installation, our CO2 and CO filters and scrubbers are suitable for all types of use, from small shelters to very large installations.
Operation
The metal housing contains a cartridge filled with soda lime, a mixture of calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH). Our cartridges are delivered in airtight packaging to ensure extended shelf life. Once the package is opened and the scrubber is activated, the gas absorption process begins immediately.
